Hi there

I’d like to take this opportunity of introducing myself as Membership Secretary of the Furness Vale Boat Club.

Membership is open to anyone who has an enthusiasm for the Inland Waterways.

The club meets on a monthly basis, usually 8pm on the second Friday of the month, at the Furness Vale Social Club which is just off the A6 by the side of the Chinese Restaurant.

We have a varied programme and don’t meet June to August, as most boat owners want to spend the Summer months boating.

The programme includes a mixture of dinners and buffets and BBQs, games and competitions, speakers on boat related subjects from The Canal and River Trust (formally BW)  and other organisations, auction of boat bits and this year plans are afoot to visit the Falkirk Wheel.

  • AWCC membership which allows you to use other boat clubs’ facilities, by arrangement, when you are long term cruising
  • Discount on production of a membership card at TW Marine (parts only), Stone Chandlery, Trafalgar Marine and, hopefully, others being negotiated.

If all this sounds good, the price of membership will amaze you — £20 per boat (for up to two people) per year.  Click on the link below to download a membership form. This can be completed and returned if you wish
